Definitions
ISO (Isolateral)
"Isolateral" refers to gym equipment designed to allow each side of the body to work independently. In the context of strength training machines, such as chest presses or shoulder presses, isolateral equipment features separate handles or movement arms for each side of the body.
This enables users to target and strengthen individual muscles or correct imbalances by working each side independently. Isolateral equipment enhances versatility and effectiveness in strength training workouts.
Converging Axis
In equipment with converging axis, the movement arms are designed to converge towards the midline of the body as they move through the exercise motion.
This convergence mimics the natural movement patterns of the human body during certain exercises, such as pushing or pressing movements. By bringing the handles or movement arms closer together as they move, converging axis equipment can help maintain proper biomechanics and reduce strain on the joints, particularly the shoulders.
The converging axis design also allows for a more natural range of motion and better muscle recruitment, resulting in a more effective and comfortable workout experience. Additionally, it can accommodate users with different body types and arm lengths, making the equipment suitable for a wider range of individuals.
Overall, converging axis technology enhances the effectiveness, safety, and inclusivity of strength training equipment in gym settings.
