The ecological composting process is straightforward and eco-conscious. Within the toilet, you'll find a wooden box with a designated area for the toilet itself and a separate section for a bucket filled with sawdust, which serves as a natural and odour-reducing composting material. The system operates without the need for water, digging holes, or the use of any harmful chemicals, making it a sustainable choice for remote outdoor locations.

Emptying the composting toilet is a simple task. When the bucket with sawdust reaches capacity, it can be easily removed and emptied into a designated composting area, ensuring that your waste is recycled in an eco-friendly manner. This toilet's roof is covered with bitumen shingles, which can be customized in three colour options: black, green, or red.

For added personalisation, the exterior of the toilet can be painted in a colour of your choice.

It's essential to note that our Outdoor Dry Composting Lavatory is intentionally designed without plumbing or electrical connections. This choice is in line with the environmentally friendly and low-impact nature of this toilet. However, we understand that specific situations may require additional features like lighting. In such cases, the lavatory can be equipped with solar-powered lights or battery-operated lights, offering a practical and eco-conscious solution.

Should you wish to incorporate plumbing and electrical components, the lavatory's design allows for these features to be easily added to suit any individual needs.

The Composting Lavatory arrives fully assembled, eliminating the need for on-site construction. 

Order Timeline

Following your order confirmation, our production team initiates the crafting process. This stage typically requires 15-20 business days.

Delivery Estimate

After the fabrication is complete, we allocate an additional 5 days for the secure delivery of your lavatory. Our primary objective is to ensure that your order reaches you within the timeframe of 20-25 days from the date of order confirmation.

While we consistently aim to meet this timeline, it is important to acknowledge that certain circumstances may occasionally necessitate a delivery window of up to 30 days. These circumstances may include customised features, adverse weather conditions, or other factors beyond our control.

Scheduling & Pre-orders

We understand that timing is essential for our clients. That's why we offer the flexibility to schedule your order according to your convenience. Whether you have a specific date in mind or need to plan your delivery for a future occasion, we can accommodate your schedule. With pre-orders, you can secure your order with just a 5% deposit, and you have the freedom to choose a delivery date that aligns with your timeline, even up to 6 months in advance.

Foundations

A crucial part of achieving longevity and getting the most out of our new lavatory is establishing a solid foundation. An inadequate foundation can lead to structural issues, potentially causing cracks in the pod. Uneven placement of the lavatory may alter its geometric shape, resulting in twisting of doors and windows, as well as the formation of gaps. In this section, we'll delve into the essential considerations for the base and access to the sides of your lavatory, guiding you through the process of creating the perfect foundation for your outdoor space.

Access for Installation & Maintenance

For seamless installation and maintenance of our lavatory, access to all sides is essential. We recommend allowing approximately 300mm (about 12 inches) of clearance around the lavatory. However, allowing more space should never be overlooked.

In instances where the lavatory is positioned in a tight corner or a confined space, it's important to consider the potential challenges this may pose for maintenance. Restricted access can hinder routine visual inspections, which are typically recommended every six months. This regular check-up is crucial to identify and address any issues promptly, preventing them from escalating into more significant problems. Therefore, when placing the lavatory in a snug location, please be mindful of the potential maintenance difficulties it may entail.

Base

The foundation is the bedrock upon which your outdoor lavatory will stand. To maintain the structural integrity and prevent warping over time, it's imperative that all of our products are fitted on a level and sturdy surface. We do not recommend installing on uneven ground, grass, or generally unsuitable surfaces. Instead, we advocate for the ideal base, which includes options such as concrete, tarmac, patio stones, or even a structurally sound patio decking.

To ensure proper weight distribution and stability, it is crucial that the full, complete base is in contact with the ground. 

It's crucial to avoid any substantial depressions or gullies on the base surface. A depression of more than 3/4 of an inch (20mm) at any point across the base can lead to undesirable consequences, such as the floor being pushed down or bowed up in the middle. 

An inadequate base can result in gaps forming. Gaps may develop in the doors or walls. These gaps can have several consequences, including:

1. Reduced Insulation: Gaps in the structure compromise the insulation of the lavatory, making it less energy-efficient and potentially leading to temperature fluctuations inside.
2. Pest Intrusion: Openings can allow pests to enter the lavatory, which could create hygiene and maintenance issues.
3. Water Ingress: Gaps may permit water to seep into the lavatory, potentially causing damage to the interior and its contents.
4. Aesthetic Deterioration: Uneven gaps can mar the pod's appearance and affect its overall aesthetics.

It's essential to ensure that the lavatory is placed on a level and appropriate foundation to prevent these issues.

Nestled within an expansive 4.5-acre facility, our workshop is the fundamental centre of Glamping Pods and related product lines. In the bird's-eye view below, you can spot the central manufacturing hub, the heart of our operation, serves as the birthplace of our pods. The central spine within this facility is our production line, a bustling conduit where pods embark on their transformation from concept to reality.

Surrounding this central hub, we have three other buildings which have integral duties. To the left, we have our Research and Development hub, where constant innovation and testing are the norm. Here, novel designs like the "Stargazer" have been developed and are now ready for your consideration. Our remaining structures are dedicated to storing high-value, precision machinery, ensuring that every component remains in peak condition. Within these walls, our timber, meticulously dried and stored, stands at the ready for immediate use.

Inventory for Immediate Use

This is our immediate use inventory, a key component of our streamlined production process. These materials are strategically positioned beside the main production facility, ensuring quick and convenient access when needed. Rather than having to make the journey to our separate storage facility, these essential materials are located right at the heart of our production hub.

Quick Dispatch Depot

At our Quick Dispatch Depot, we maintain a streamlined process for swift order fulfilment. Our trusted couriers visit our depot regularly, typically two to three times a week. In close coordination with them, we ensure minimal waiting time for pick-up. To expedite the process, our pods are positioned in a designated area that our couriers are familiar with. They can conveniently drive into the depot, load up the pods, and be on their way. As depicted in the image below, our pods are lined up for next-day dispatch. They are now ready to be wrapped, protected and safeguarded for their journey to their final location.

The warranty for these items is determined by the manufacturer (e.g our Harvia heaters). The duration of their warranties may vary, ranging from 0 to 4+ years.

It's essential to understand that the warranty period for electrical products and accessories is often shorter when used for commercial purposes.

Post Warranty Repairs

After the warranty period ends, or if the products are intentionally damaged by third parties or due to customer fault, Home Living Luxury may, in some cases, offer replacement parts for a fee. The cost of these replacement parts and services will be based on rates set by Home Living Luxury.

Customers are required to cover the expenses for these services unless Home Living Luxury specifies otherwise. The exact criteria and terms for post-warranty repairs or damages resulting from intentional misuse will be determined by Home Living Luxury.

Warranty Exclusions

2. Natural Characteristics of Wood: As wood is a natural material, the warranty does not cover the following aspects:
1. Wood may develop cracks after assembly.
2. Wood movement, which may lead to gaps in walls due to factors like lightning, hurricanes, or tornadoes, resulting in changes in the item's shape.
3. The occurrence of mold on wood.
4. Wooden details that include intact branches and do not compromise the item's stability.
5. Consequences of extreme or unusual weather conditions, such as water seepage through the wall or roof shingles during exceptionally heavy rain, strong winds, or weather events like lightning, hurricanes, or tornadoes.
6. Use of the item not in accordance with its intended purpose or malfunctions caused by non-compliance with the provided instructions.
3. Alterations and Repairs: The warranty is not applicable if the items are disassembled, their components are replaced, or if the items are altered by entities other than Home Living Luxury. Additionally, if third parties have carried out repairs on the items.
4. Normal Wear and Tear: Natural wear and tear of the materials used and the item itself are not covered by the warranty.
5. Atmospheric Influences: Wood, being a natural construction material, can be affected by atmospheric conditions. Before processing, timber typically contains up to 18% residual moisture content, and changes in humidity due to different weather conditions (e.g., rain, freezing, cold, or heat) can impact the wood structure and may lead to the following effects:
1. Cracking during the drying process, which is considered a natural occurrence and not covered by the warranty.
2. Adaptation of wooden details to new conditions a few weeks after construction. This may necessitate adjustments to doors.
3. Ultraviolet rays (solar rays) may cause changes in the colour of the wood.

In summary, it's important to note that our warranty does not cover instances of misconstruction, misuse, normal wear and tear, and the effects of weather and atmospheric influences on wood. These exclusions are in place to provide clarity on the specific situations and conditions where we cannot be held liable under the warranty.

Filing a Claim

In the event that you need to make a warranty claim, please contact Home Living Luxury and provide the following information:

• Order number and date of the order.
• A detailed description of the claim, specifying exact positions on the product.
• If the claim pertains to transport damages, be sure to include copies of the signed shipping documents.

However, for deliveries to the Scottish Highlands, Channel Islands or outside Europe,will require personalised shipping quotes.Please reach out to our support team for a customised shipping quote, and we'll respond within 24 hours.

The entire process, from crafting to completed delivery, takes approximately 20-25 working days. After order confirmation, our skilled artisans begin constructing your pod, usually taking 15-20 business days. We then allocate an additional 5 days for secure delivery. While our goal is to deliver within 20-25 days, please note that certain circumstances, such as customisations or weather-related delays, may extend the timeframe up to 30 days. Throughout this process, we prioritise clear communication to keep you informed.

• You can make changes to your order within 3 working days from the date of order placement without incurring any extra fees.
• It may be possible to make changes up to 5 working days after placing your order, but after the initial 3 working days, a "late amendment fee" may apply along with any additional charges resulting from the modifications.
• Please note that while we will do our absolute best to accommodate your requested changes, the final decision lies at the discretion of Home Living Luxury.

Pre-delivery Cancellations

Given this timeline, it becomes quite challenging for us to entertain pre-delivery order cancellations once your order is officially placed. Our pods are crafted to your precise specifications, which significantly limits the opportunity for returns or order amendments. Therefore, we strongly advise careful consideration before finalising your order.

If you ever find the need to make changes to your order, please contact us as soon as possible within the initial 3 working days from the date of order placement. During this timeframe, adjustments can be made without incurring additional fees. However, it's essential to clarify that the window for a full order cancellation is strictly 3 working days. If you choose to cancel your order within this period, a 5% cancellation fee will be retained by Home Living Luxury. For example, if your glamping pod order is valued at £10,000 and you request a full refund within the 3 working day period, we will issue the refund, deducting a 5% cancellation fee (£500). This policy specifically applies to products designed and crafted to your unique specifications, which explains its precise nature.

Please note that orders cannot be cancelled after the initial 3 full working days following the order placement. This policy is in place to ensure a streamlined and efficient process for all our valued customers.

Returns for Damaged Deliveries

Our returns policy accommodates orders that are received damaged by our courier. In such cases, please do not sign off on the delivery document and follow these steps:

1. Refuse the delivery: If you happen to notice any damage to the product during the delivery process, please refuse to accept the delivery from our courier. • Installation and Final Location: Once your order has been received successfully, and there is no damage reported, we regret to inform you that we cannot accept refunds under any circumstances. This policy is in line with the custom nature of our products.
